GeoMonday the 1st – Topical Maps

There is a new kid in town!

GeoMonday the 1st starts in Berlin the 29th of April.

This vibrant German metropolis reflects a lot of attitudes in line with Location Business today. It’s creative, fast paced and tries always to go beyond the edge. Additionally it’s a well kept secret, that several big players have their HQ here, like our sponsors HERE by Nokia and Skobbler. Obviously good education is a vital part of the business and our partner Beuth University has a long tradition in teaching next generation of map artists, world data capture and location developers.

What can you expect in our first session?

We have several speakers which will talk about topical maps. As most of us have used a mapping service already we get used to the common map schemes, but there is definitely more. Regardless if you wanna climb, ride by bike, enjoy skiing or just see latest erosion in Africa all of it need special maps focusing on the essence and this is what you will see. Our talks won’t be long and you shouldn’t expect sales pitches. In the tradition of the Monday community our speakers will give you an inside in what is their business and how they used mapping and location in their applications.

The Venue

We have the pleasure to reside in of the latest and greatest IT departments in Europe. Nokia’s Berlin based HERE Unit building was built in 2012 and is the home for more than 800 employees. It features 7 floor and a great view of the city. We will enjoy a nice and cozy event location at the 6th floor. The address is Invalidenstraße 116 in 10115 Berlin, directly between Naturkundemuseum and Nordbahnhof. Detailed place information are available here.
