Prof. Dr. Michael Hartmann
Biography
Prof. Hartmann studied and earned his doctorate at Humboldt University in Berlin in the field of physics. In 2002, he was appointed professor at SRH Hochschule Berlin and has been serving as Vice President for Teaching since 2010. As part of international research projects, he worked at the University of Rochester (USA) as well as at the universities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv (Israel). In his research projects within DFG Collaborative Research Centers and Priority Programs, including those at TU Chemnitz, the Jülich Research Center, and Humboldt University in Berlin, he investigated the optical and electronic properties of novel materials for inorganic and organic photovoltaics.
His application-oriented research in recent years has focused primarily on management concepts and knowledge management for sustainable energy supply based on renewable energies. In this context, he collaborated with international partners and secondary vocational schools in Berlin to develop training programs on renewable energies.
Prof. Hartmann is a member of the German Physical Society and the European Physical Society. As a liaison lecturer for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, he serves as a contact person and mentor for the scholarship holders at SRH Hochschule Berlin.
