MEDIBOT – The Vision – Guided Robotic Arm for Medical Dispensing

MEDIBOT – The Vision-Guided Robotic Arm for Medical Dispensing Machine,   that combines AI, robotics, and IoT to make medicine dispensing faster, safer, and more accurate. When a customer provides a prescription—either on paper or by voice—the system uses OCR and speech recognition to read it, then checks the inventory in real time for availability and expiry. Once validated, a 6-DOF robotic arm (myCobot 320 Pi), powered by Python, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32, automatically picks and dispenses the correct medicine. The prototype already performs basic pick-and-place using OpenCV and Tesseract, and we are now integrating AI for smarter recognition and ROS2 for advanced control. This technology reduces human error, keeps inventory updated, and has the potential to scale into hospitals, retail pharmacies, and automated kiosks.
